On friday 13th I went to the Canada Post office in York Lanes because I had to ship an envelope to Venezuela. It was an emergency son I had to pay $81 for an express shipping. I thought it was expensive but I sent it anyways because my mom needed it as quick as possible. They told me in 3 working days my package would arrive to my country, it seemed fast enough to me!
I had to deal with all the terminilogy that involves talking about mailing, it was very difficult! I didn't know what was the difference between "send" or "shipping" or "mailing" =D The situation got more confusing when the man who was in the front desk (he was asian and I didn't understand him very well, I think his dad speaks better :b) started using those terms simultanously =s We both were really confused until I wispered to Chie to help me and to tell me what was the difference between send, mail or ship... she was not very sure but we came to the conclusion that the three verbs were similar!
After paying, the young man told me I could "track" my package on line, of course I got cofused again; but before everything turned a mess, Chie explained to me what did "tracking" mean =)she has more experience in this field because she has sent letters to Japon before, thanks God!!!
Actually I decided to write about this beacuse I'm really angry at Canada Post people! as I payed for an express shipping, my package had to arrive to Venezuela last wenesday, but it didn't. This afternoon after class I went to the post office for asking them why my package hasn't arrived and they told me I had to call the main office to protest. When I got home I was really angry and I was decided to call them and take their heads off! but I didn't because my mom e-mailed me with good news! she'd got the letters!
I'm still mad at the post office, but I feel relieved my letters are not lost!
P.S. Reeves! thank you veeeeery much =)

One time, my wife Fabiola got her U.S. visa renewed, and it was Fed-Exed with her Mexican passport to our apartment building.
The kid at the front desk in the manager's office signed for the envelope, but then couldn't find Fabiola's name in the files (I had lived there for a few years, and they still had my old information form from before I had met her).
When he couldn't find her name, he decided to go outside and put the envelope into a Canada Post mailbox . . .
Just a fantastically stupid thing to do!
Of course, that's a good way to lose it forever. Inside were my wife's passport + her U.S. high-powered diplomatic semi-permanent visa.
So there was a passport good for 10 years + this visa, with a photo of a latin woman, out there somewhere. Actually, a security risk for everyone, ourselves included.
Besides which, Fabiola didn't have her passport, and she was about to get assigned to a job in Mexico for a month and a half.
We had to go to the police and try to get a serious investigation going.
In the end, the Canada Post people delivered the package to us, about a week later, although they didn't need to do that at all.
So they did o.k., and I have to remember that -- but yes, they can be pretty dumb sometimes, too, in those kinds of situations.
I won't use Canada Post ever again! PERIOD!
