Today I was reading some poems written by Mario Benedetti who is a very famous writer from Uruguay. His writings are in spanish but I decided to look for an English translation to share one of my favourite poems with you =) I have to tell you that every time I read one of Benedetti's writings I discover something new that really makes me come back to the poem over and over again. As I was reading today the essay "Crazy talk, stupid talk", I came to this poem named VICEVERSA. The first time I read it I had to re-read the last part one more time before coming to the idea that the man was really confused and that he was trying to drive me crazy. It is not a difficult poem to read, it is simple but touching! Anyways, as well as Viceversa, today I had to re-read a couple of times some parts of the essay too because there are some confusing definitions and examples I didn't get at the first glance.

hope to see you
anxious to see you
I want to find you
preocupation of finding you
certainty of finding you
poor doubts of finding you
I have urgency to listen to you
happiness to listen to you
good luck to listen you
and fear to listen to you
that is to say
summarizing
that I am fucked
and radiant
perhaps more of the first
than of the second
and viceversa, too

This is a nice poem. Someone recommended benedetti to me a while ago, but I have not yet gotten around to reading him.
It reminds me a bit of a U.S. poet named Roger Weingarten. His poetry is rather strange in this way, and he has a further habit of making up really weird titles, just for fun, apparently. (Wallace Stevens did that: he had a notebook just for titles; later, he'd pick a title and make a poem for it).
